At Creekwood Orthodontics, we’re always striving to provide our patients with the best orthodontic experience possible. When you visit your Liberty, Cameron, and Kansas City orthodontist, you’ll find a team that places an emphasis on giving you a convenient and hassle-free orthodontic treatment. One of the ways that we’re able to offer such a convenient treatment for our patients is because we utilize accelerated orthodontics. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, allow us to tell you all about how our accelerated orthodontics, known as Propel, work.
Propel is a revolutionary orthodontic device that can accelerate your orthodontic treatment. It works with the patient’s own biology in order to stimulate the bone that’s surrounding the teeth. By performing micro-osteoperforations, the tooth movement will be accelerated and the bone regrowth will be improved.
Despite being such an advanced treatment, it’s actually incredibly simple to use. It follows these steps:
First, your orthodontist will take x-rays to determine the size of the gaps that are existing between your teeth. These areas are where the micro-osteoperforations will be performed.
Our findings will be double-checked by physically feeling for the bone beneath your gums.
To make sure that you don’t feel any discomfort during the procedure, we’ll administer a local anesthetic.
Your orthodontist will use Propel to make a tiny hole through your gum and into the underlying bone. For each tooth that’s going to be moved during treatment, there will be one-to-three holes made on either side of the tooth.
It’s as simple as that! With this easy process, your teeth will be moving faster in no time! In some cases, you may have to come back to have the procedure done again while in other cases this one treatment will be all you need.
This accelerated orthodontics treatment can be helpful for the following reasons:
Propel can speed up the movement of your teeth by up to 50-to-60 percent! This can even cut treatment time in half for some people.
Not only will it help move your teeth faster, but it’ll allow your tissues to heal much quicker as well.
You won’t need to take any time off afterward; you can return to your daily routine shortly after the treatment.
Propel is a clinically-proven procedure that’s safe for patients.
Propel works for just about any candidate who’s able to undergo orthodontic treatment, but just in case, we recommend that you visit your Kansas City, Liberty, and Cameron accelerated orthodontics provider to make sure.
